The general aim of our laboratory is to characterize survival and death mechanisms in eukaryotic cells. When we identify important players in the regulation of cell death, we determine whether they could be the target of therapeutical tools to treat human diseases. The current projects undertaken in our research group are the following:

- Role of the cleavage of RasGAP by caspases during apoptosis. More

- Preventing pancreatic B-cell death with the anti-apoptotic N-terminal RasGAP fragment. More

- Characterization of the survival signals induced by HDLs in pancreatic beta cells. More

- Design of new genotoxin-sensitizers for the treatment of cancers. More

- Characterization of the survival signals induced by UV-exposure in the skin. More
